American is right there in the name

It is no secret that American Apparel prides itself on being made in America. More specifically, in Downtown LA. They boast of their "Sweat-shop free" factory right on the homepage of their website. They also employ "vertically integrated manufacturing" which, they also write on their site, "minimizes the use of sub-contractors and offshore labor." Knitting, dyeing, sewing, photography, marketing distribution and design all happen in their Los Angeles facilities." And it certainly is working for them; they are hugely successful, employing over 10,000 people worldwide. They are great for basic cotton pieces, with a rainbow of color options. Hats off, or should we say shirts off?
